About Us The Alzheimer Society is a non-profit organization and registered charity that offers support, education, and advocacy for families of people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The Society also focuses on raising money to help find a cure and cause for the disease. Our Mission To alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and to promote research. Our Vision A world without Alzheimer's disease. Our Values Collaboration Accountability Respect Excellence The Alzheimer Societies in South East Ontario are a part of the South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) . This network was established by the Ontario government in order to promote integration among our health care resources at the local and regional level. The five chapters in South East Ontario receive funding from the South East LHIN, but depend on donations and volunteer support. Except for an amount budgeted for research, all of the money raised by fundraising events stay within the local Chapters. Offices are currently staffed in Bancroft, Belleville, Brockville, Kingston, Perth, and Picton. However, the offices are dedicated to serving all residents in the South East region. This South East region includes Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington Counties, Prince Edward County, Belleville, Hastings, Quinte, Lanark, and Leeds-Grenville.
