Support Groups

  • Family/Caregiver Support Groups:  Traveling the Alzheimer journey is not a solitary experience.  The disease affects spouses, children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbours. Therefore, this group has been designed to help family/caregivers share their experiences, discuss creative caregiver solutions, and explore new coping strategies.
  • Early Stage Support Group:  This group has been specifically designed for individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.  This support group provides an opportunity for those with mild memory loss to meet others who are experiencing similiar difficulties and exchange information in a supportive environment.

Family/Caregiver and Early Stage support groups are offered in a variety of locations and times each month, click here for a print out of the schedule.

Safely Home

People living with Alzheimer's disease sometimes lose the ability to recognize familiar places, to communicate, or to remember their own name, or address.  They may leave home, become confused, and get lost.

In partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Canada and the RCMP, Safely Home is a program designed to help find the wandering individual and assist in their safe return home.

For more information, or to register online to Safely Home click here. You may also contact us for informational brochures or a paper application.
